The Pittsburgh Pirates crushed the Chicago Cubs 7-0. The Cubs have dropped five of their last six, with the magic number to clinch the NL Central title over the Cardinals remaining three with three games to play against the cross town White Sox, beginning tonight on the South Side.
Ian Anderson gave up three unearned runs over five-and-two-thirds as the Atlanta Braves were doubled up by the Miami Marlins 4-2. The Braves conclude the season with an Interleague series with the Boston Red Sox beginning today in Atlanta.
