Clifty woman charged with drug trafficking

A Clifty woman is facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and more following a traffic stop Thursday.

According to a news release, officers with the Elkton Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 6000 block of Guthrie Road and made contact with the driver, 37-year old Jeana Sweeney of Clifty. Sweeney was found to be under the influence of narcotics and operating on a DUI suspended license—a firearm was located in the driver side door of the vehicle.

Sweeny was taken to the Todd County Jail, where a search of her person reportedly revealed her to be in possession of suspected meth, as well as marijuana and other narcotics.  Sweeney was charged with trafficking in meth, public intoxication, operating a vehicle on a suspended license, second-offense DUI, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in marijuana and trafficking in a controlled substance.
