Ky. gains 930 COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced 930 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, and 12 new deaths.

The new cases brings the overall total in the Commonwealth up to 65,066 and the positivity rate decreased slightly to 4.48 percent. One hundred thirty-one of the newly reported cases were from children age 18 and younger.  The governor urged people to wear their masks while out in public, saying we cannot continue to see case numbers so high.

Twelve more Kentuckians have died, including a 79-year-old man from Marshall County, bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 1,149.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,910 new COVID-19 cases and 42 new deaths.  Montgomery County gained 23 new cases, Robertson County saw 13 and Stewart County reported eight new cases.
