Trigg woman served with indictment warrant for manslaughter

A Trigg County grand jury indictment warrant for manslaughter has been served against a woman whose two children died in an April 7 house fire.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year old Keyona Bingham of Cadiz turned herself in Sunday and was served with the indictment warrant for second-degree manslaughter.

As previously reported, firefighters were called to a modular home at 194 Jefferson Street April 7 and located three-year old Kamari Harris and seven-month old Ky’nylee Harris during a search of the residence.

Both children were pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy determined they died as a result of smoke and other products of combustion inhalation.

Kentucky State Police allege Bingham had allegedly left her children at home unattended during the timeframe the fire began.
