Fire causes severe damage to home in Greenville

Fire caused severe damage to a home Monday night in Greenville.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Crittenden Drive about 8:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the structure.

The Greenville Fire Department believes the blaze began in the kitchen area, but the cause is unknown. They say the home sustained extensive heat and smoke damage aside from the immediate fire damage in the kitchen.

No one was injured and the Central City Fire Department assisted at the scene.
