Gov. reports 824 new COVID cases, increased positivity rate

Another 824 COVID-19 cases and seven more deaths were reported Tuesday afternoon by Governor Andy Beshear.

At least 134 of those new cases were 18-years old or younger and the positivity rate increased to 4.52 percent. Kentucky has 511 COVID patients in the hospital and 73 on a ventilator.

The seven new deaths put the overall total during the pandemic at 1,119.

The new White House map, which is different from the state’s incident rate map, has Christian, Trigg, Caldwell and Logan County as red.

Governor Beshear implored Kentuckians to not seek out ways to get around guidance and instead work to keep each other healthy.

He says expect guidance in coming days on how to safely help young ones celebrate Halloween during a pandemic.

Tennessee reported 739 new cases and 28 more deaths. Montgomery County had nine new cases, there were two in Stewart County and a single new case in Robertson County.
