First-round leader Justin Thomas dropped into a three-way tie for third place during Friday’s second round of the U.S. Open at Winged Foot. Thomas began the day at 5-under 65, but his 3-over 73 dropped him two shots back of 36-hole leader Patrick Reed, who finished his second round at even par and is at four under overall. Bryson DeChambeau finished his round with an eagle to shoot two under for the day and sits alone in second place at three under. Only six golfers are under par.
Meanwhile, Owensboro amateur John Augenstein and Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker did not make the cut.
