Child injured in Clarksville accidental shooting passes away

A minor child who was injured in an accidental shooting incident that occurred on Lincoln Street in Clarksville Tuesday has passed away.

According to a news release, the incident occurred around 3 p.m. that day and investigation has determined that the child, who was two-years old, located an unsecured firearm inside of the residence.  They firearm was then discharged, striking the child and resulting in the child’s death.

The investigation continues, with Clarksville police urging everyone to make sure that their firearms are secured and kept in a place not easily accessed by children.
