Updated: One killed in Trigg fire

Kentucky State Police have released more information on a fatal house fire that happened late Wednesday night on Will Jackson Road in Trigg County.

A motorist called Trigg Dispatch and reported that the home between Alexander Road and Reddick Pond Road was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from the Trigg-Lyon and Cadiz Volunteer Fire Departments responded and the body of one person was located inside the home after the blaze was extinguished.

The body was removed by the Trigg County Coroner’s Office and an autopsy was scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville. The victim’s name has not been released.

A state fire marshal from Bowling Green has met with detectives at the scene and has ruled the cause of the fire “undetermined.”

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, Rescue Squad and EMS also assisted at the scene.
