Thomas has clubhouse lead at US Open

Kentuckian Justin Thomas opened play at the US Open this morning shooting a five under 65 at Winged Foot Golf Club. Thomas’ 65 was one stroke better than Fuzzy Zoeller who shot 66 in the 2nd round in 1984 and Patrick Reed, who fired his 66 today which included a hole in one. Owensboro’s John Augenstein, playing as an amateur is at four over 74. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is playing this afternoon.
