The Christian County Health Department is reporting the county’s 18th COVID-19 related death and 36 new cases, the second highest amount reported since the pandemic began.
The 18th death is described as a 96 year old white male, with no other underlying health conditions listed in a news release. The 36 new confirmed cases puts the overall total of COVID-19 cases in the county at 1,145—of that, 171 are considered active and 956 people have recovered from the illness.
The health department states this week has seen the highest number of case increases at 110 so far and there are still two days left to report. They urge people to keep frequently and thoroughly washing their hands and to social distance and wear a mask while in public.
