United Way of the Pennyrile will kick off its fundraising campaign next week with a first-of-its-kind drive-thru breakfast event.
Betsy Bond is the executive director of the local United Way and says drive through Trail of Tears Park between 7:30 and 9:30 Wednesday, September 23 and pick up some breakfast and learn about the storied history of the organization.
She says attendees will be able to tune in on their FM radio to hear from official local historian William Turner and Wayne Goolsby on the United Way of the Pennyrile’s history.
Bond says the theme of this year’s campaign is “United We Win.”
Several area businesses and industries have already begun their individual campaigns and Bond says anyone wanting to donate or start a campaign can call the United Way at 270-886-8171.
