Rotary Auction has big night Wednesday

Sixty-eight items sold Wednesday night at the 70th WHOP Rotary Radio Auction, including some off the big board.

The auction raised $10,560 and there were just over $9,800 in Hour Club donations, bringing the overall total through three nights to $77,818.

Auction Chair Scott Cowan says the best way to make the event a success is likely donating $174 or more to the Hour Club.

Rotary has been selling Boston Butts daily beginning at 11 a.m. at the War Memorial Building and Cowan says that’s been going well so far.

Cowan reminds that all money raised by the auction helps send local high school students to Hopkinsville Community College through the Rotary Scholars Program.

The auction airs each night through Thursday from 7 until 9 and Friday and Saturday from 6 until 10 on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com. It can also be viewed at HopkinsvilleRotary.com and on Spectrum Cable channel 376.
