The Big 10 announced it will begin its 2020 season the weekend of October 24th. Each team will play eight games in eight weeks and the conference championship game will be held December 19th if all goes well. The league also announced no fans will be able to attend games this fall. Today’s announcement comes less than five weeks after pushing football and other fall sports to spring in the name of player safety during the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Mid-American Conference commissioner Jon Steinbrecher issued a statement today saying the MAC has no plans to play a fall season in any sport. The MAC was one of several conferences who announced plans not to play this fall due to the COVID pandemic.
