Fifty-eight items sell on night two of Rotary Auction

Another 58 items sold during night two of the 70th WHOP Rotary Radio Auction and organizers are still looking for additional items to auction off later this week.

Those 58 items brought in just under $5,000 and another $2,262 was raised in Hour Club donations during those two hours. The grand total for this year’s auction stands at $57,626.

Auction Chair Scott Cowan says they need more items for the auction and they’ll come pick an item up if you call.

A night at the museum with official local historian William Turner is always a popular attraction and Cowan says there are fewer opportunities this year than in years past.

Hopkinsville’s Rotary club is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and Cowan says you can buy a book commemorating the club’s history.

All money raised in the auction helps local high school students attend college through the Rotary Scholars and student loan programs. The auction airs each night through Thursday from 7 until 9, Friday from 6 until 10 and Saturday from 6 until all items are sold.

It can be heard on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com and it can be viewed on hopkinsvillerotary.com and Spectrum Cable Channel 376.
