Gov. announces 745 new cases, restaurants and bars can serve until 11 p.m.

Governor Andy Beshear announced another 745 new COVID-19 cases and nine more deaths Tuesday and announced an extension to the state’s curfew for restaurants and bars.

Those nine new deaths include a 83-year old woman from Hopkins County and means 1,074 Kentuckians have died from the virus.

One piece of encouraging news is a drop in the state’s positivity rate to just below four percent.

The governor announced bars and restaurants can now serve until 11 p.m.—granting a request from those businesses as football and other games are going late into the night.

Health and Family Services Cabinet Secretary Eric Friedlander announced that Kentucky has received a grant of just about $1 million to help senior centers plan for seniors to get meals on wheels service during emergencies or disasters such as the pandemic.
