A pursuit that began in Russellville Sunday ended with a crash outside of the city.
Russellville police received a tip that someone wanted on a warrant was at a location on West Ninth Street and located the suspected vehicle in the area. Investigation determined the driver, Luke Minton, and a female passenger had active warrants.
Officers told Minton and his passengers to exit, but police say Minton reversed and nearly struck an officer.
The vehicle was pursued onto Orndoff Mill Road, but the pursuit was soon terminated.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle crashed on Dot Road near Orndoff Mill Road minutes later and Minton and his passenger were located nearby.
Both occupants were treated for injuries and Russellville police will be charging Minton with first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving and several other counts.
