The Pennyrile Area Development District heard from Secretary of State Michael Adams at Monday’s virtual meeting, and he says voting in the November election should be easier and safer than ever.
Secretary Adams says thinks have been very different this year thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, as he works to keep people voting while keeping them healthy—particularly poll workers. Voters will have multiple options, including voting by mail, voting in-person or voting early and Adams says there are many counties across the state that will have multiple voting locations on Election Day.
He says they will also have the election results that night, unlike in June for the primary where there was a long wait to see who won their races.
The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot will be October 9 and it must be postmarked on or before November 3 for it to count. There could also be secured drop boxes at clerk’s offices to allow for someone to drop off their ballot instead of mailing it in.
PADD Executive Director Jason Vincent says the development district has begun issuing loans to local businesses—including Strader Farms in Todd County.
