Local man sought on warrant now facing new drug, gun charges

A Hopkinsville man sought on a warrant was arrested late Saturday night by city police and is facing new drug trafficking and gun charges.

Officers were called to a disturbance on Pin Oak Drive and investigation led them to make a traffic stop on 43-year old William Jones of Hopkinsville on Canton Pike.

A computer check showed Jones was sought on a warrant out of Calloway County for failing to make payments related to a theft conviction from last year.

A search of his vehicle allegedly revealed marijuana, synthetic drugs, plastic baggies, canisters of THC juice for vapes, two guns and 9 mm hollow point ammunition.

Jones was charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of restricted ammunition during a felony.
