Former PGA and British Open champion John Daly was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. The 54-year-old Daly underwent successful surgery, all discovered after health issues caused him to withdraw from a Charles Schwab Series event last month in Missouri.

Daly told Golf Channel he thought he believed it was a battle with kidney stones, but testing revealed a cancer that needed to be removed. Daly added there’s an 85% chance the cancer comes back. He will revisit with his doctor in three months. Daly also stated on Twitter he would do everything he can to beat this disease.
