Sen. McConnell looks back at 9/11 attacks 19 years later

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky remembered the attacks of September 11, 2001 on America Thursday morning on the Senate Floor and recognized the service and sacrifices of the men and women of Fort Campbell since that day.

He noted the 3,000 lives lost in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania and lauded the bravery of first responders who ran into burning buildings.

Senator McConnnell said it was Fort Campbell’s ‘Night Stalkers’ who brought America’s response to terrorists in Afghanistan.

Soldiers from Fort Campbell also assisted in the killing of Osama bin Laden.

VFW Post 1913 will host its annual 9/11 remembrance Friday morning at 11 on the lawn of their facility.
