Bentzel discusses restart of in-person instruction

Christian County School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel has been pleased with the restart of in-person learning during a pandemic.

Appearing on WHOP Thursday, Bentzel said parents and students have been doing their part to prevent spread of the coronavirus during these first few days.

He says there were no issues getting students of all ages to comply with the mask requirements and a little over 35 percent of students are still taking classes at home through the Virtual Learning Academy.

Even with things going well now, Bentzel says procedures are in place to temporarily close a school and revert back to non-traditional instruction if there’s a large COVID outbreak amongst students or teachers.

The Christian County Public School System’s COVID Data Dashboard shows four active cases—one each in Christian County Middle and Indian Hills, Pembroke and Millbrooke elementary schools.
