Madisonville North Hopkins has selected its new boys basketball coach. According to a report in the Madisonville Messenger, Jon Newton accepted the job Monday afternoon. Newton calls it one of the best jobs in the 2nd region.
Newton, who has been head coach for Webster County for the past nine seasons, will replace Matt Beshear and take over a program that won back-to-back region titles the past two seasons. Newton’s Webster County club lost to the Maroons in last season’s 2nd region final.
