Christian County schools returned to in-person instruction Tuesday morning after beginning the year with non-traditional learning.

Elementary schools are at five-days-a-week 100 percent capacity and Indian Hills Principal Tonya Oakley says the transition was smooth on the first day.

She says nearly every student arrived with a mask and they are adapting as well as possible to the social distancing guidelines.

Middle and high school students in Christian County are on a hybrid plan where they go to in-person instruction two days and do non-traditional learning the other three.

Oakley says there were about 300 of a normal 480 students in the building on the first day and the rest are attending the Virtual Learning Academy.
