Gov. announces 291 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Labor Day

Governor Andy Beshear reported another 291 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Labor Day.

There have now been 53,064 total cases since the pandemic reached Kentucky just over six months ago.

Fifty-two of the new cases are children 18 and younger and seven are five or under.

There were no new deaths to report Monday, leaving the total at 996.

Governor Beshear said in a news release, “We’re seeing a dip in the number of newly reported cases today, as we often do on weekends. Unfortunately we’ve set back-to-back records in the number of new coronavirus cases in just the last two weeks. We have to do better.”

Kentucky’s seven-day rolling average positivity rate is at 4.34 percent.

Tennessee added 983 new cases and four more deaths. There were 33 new cases in Montgomery County and four new in Robertson.
