Summer of 2020 was slightly hotter than normal and excessively wet in western Kentucky.
That’s according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, which says Christian, Todd and Trigg counties received approximately 16 to 18 inches of rain between June 1 and the end of August—commonly referred to as meteorological summer.
There was more rain the farther north you went, including Evansville experiencing its second-wettest summer on record.
Temperatures across western Kentucky were only half a degree to a degree above normal for the summer—with July the hottest month and August coming in slightly below normal.
