Grand jury returns indictments for wanton endangerment, burglary

A Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments Friday, including for wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police and burglary.

Indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment, wanton endangerment of police officer, first-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI and multiple traffic violations is 26-year old Cody Collins of Palmyra, Tennessee.  He allegedly led police on a high speed vehicle pursuit in July that reportedly resulted in running numerous other vehicles off the road, along with officers, all while under the influence of alcohol.  He reportedly blew a .173 on a breathalyzer tests.

Forty-four year old Brian Ellis of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police and traffic violations in relation to a pursuit that occurred in April in Oak Grove.  He allegedly fled from a traffic stop, nearly striking an officer, and then fled for several miles into Hopkinsville.  Ellis reportedly stopped for a second traffic stop, but when asked to exit the vehicle to perform a field sobriety test, allegedly drove off from that traffic stop as well.

Indicted for second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, terroristic threatening and criminal mischief is 23-year old Alberto Valdez of Fort Campbell.  He is alleged to have banged on the front door of the residence of the victim, and when the door opened charged in and began fighting the male victim, including biting him.  He also allegedly threatened to kill the victim.
