A single-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in the Dunmor community of Muhlenberg County killed one person and injured three others.
Kentucky State Police investigated and determined a 17-year old Drakesboro resident had been southbound on US 431 South when he failed to negotiate a curve. His car exited the northbound side of the road and struck several trees.
The front passenger, 21-year old Shana Gates of Central City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two juveniles riding in the back seat were both transported to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and the driver was taken to the hospital for serious injuries.
