The man convicted in the 2017 fatal shooting of Kristofer Armstrong on Kenwood Drive will have to serve a sentence from a 2014 case in addition to his 20 year sentence for manslaughter.
Attorneys for Sergio Del Angel clarified with Judge John Atkins during a hearing Wednesday morning that he must serve a four-year sentence that had been probated for a theft and receiving stolen property case consecutively with his 20-years for killing Armstrong.
Judge Atkins says Del Angel will get credit for the three years he’s already served for the manslaughter charge.
Del Angel asked Judge Atkins about a vehicle in evidence being released and was told the defense and Commonwealth are in discussions about that.
Del Angel shot Armstrong on the front porch of a home on Kenwood Drive on May 11, 2017. A request in August to withdraw his guilty plea and to proceed to trial was denied.
