The Guthrie man sought for a burglary Tuesday morning at a gas station has been arrested.
Guthrie Police Chief Dean Blumel received a tip that 49-year old Troy Groves was at a State Street arrest and he surrendered peacefully when the chief and Officer Eric Pinkett arrived at the home.
Groves was served with a warrant alleging he used a cinder block to break the glass door to the Marathon gas station on State Street just before 3 a.m. Tuesday in a crime that was captured on video surveillance.
Police say he entered and stole over $500 worth of merchandise, including a trash bag full of cigarettes.
Officers found Groves at his home later in the morning, but he allegedly fled and avoided capture.
Groves is charged with third-degree burglary, fleeing or evading police and first-degree criminal mischief.
