Several Western Kentucky players have received preseason honors from Conference USA Today. Defensive Preseason Player of the Year honors go to DeAngelo Malone and punter John Haggerty has been selected as C-USA Special Teams Player of the Year. WKU offensive lineman Jordan Meredith was named to the league’s preseason offensive team with Malone named to the defensive team and Haggerty the punter among the specialists. WKU opens its season at Louisville September 12th.
