The Christian County Health Department gave an update on COVID-19 locally Tuesday, including that there was an increase of seven cases from Monday to Tuesday.
According to a news release, that puts the overall total locally at 839 cases–of that, 227 are active, 601 have recovered and the county has had 11 COVID-19 related deaths.
Between the Christian County Health Department and Jennie Stuart Health, around 14,008 tests have been performed locally. There are currently five COVID-19 positive patients hospitalized at Jennie Stuart.
As of August 23, the county is at a 10.53 percent positivity rate–as some schools begin to open to in-person instruction, the health department urges everyone to keep wearing masks, social distancing when possible and especially frequently and thoroughly washing your hands.
