Erik Moses has been chosen the first Black president of the Nashville Superspeedway. He’s also the first Black to be president of a NASCAR track. The track opened in 2001, but has had few NASCAR races because of limited seating capacity. In July, the track announced it would reopen in 2021 with plans for a NASCAR Cup Series.

Kevin Harvick clinched NASCAR’s regular-season Cup Series title with a dominant victory at Dover International Speedway, his circuit-leading seventh win of the season. Martin Truex Jr. was second and seven-time Cup Series champ Jimmie Johnson finished third, though he still remains on the outside looking in to claim one of the three remaining spots in the upcoming playoffs.
