The remnants of Hurricane Laura are expected to impact the weather in western Kentucky beginning Friday.
Rick Shanklin is the warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Paducah and says while there could be deviation in the projected track of Laura’s remnants; this area will almost certainly see some impact.
Flash flooding will be possible, but Shanklin says that threat will be abated some by Laura’s fast pace across the region.
While there could be some damaging wind gusts, Laura is not expected to cause widespread issues like the remnants of Ike in September of 2008.
Shanklin says the remnants of Tropical Storm Marco are not expected to have any impact on western Kentucky.
