814 new COVID-19 cases reported in Kentucky, positivity rate down

There was good and bad news in Saturday’s COVID-19 summary from Governor Andy Beshear.

The bad news is cases were up again—814 new, bringing the overall state total to 43,066. Eight new deaths were also reported, meaning 872 Kentuckians have been lost to the pandemic.

The positive news is the state’s seven-day rolling positivity rate fell below five percent for the first time in weeks—coming in at 4.84 percent.

The governor again pled with Kentuckians to wear a face mask to help the commonwealth get to a place where in-person instruction can resume in all 120 counties.

Tennessee saw 1,239 new coronavirus cases Saturday and 14 new deaths.  Montgomery County added 17 new cases and Robertson gained 24.
