The Courier Journal reports Jefferson County Public Schools superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio is a proponent of moving high school fall sports to next spring. Pollio made the comment during a meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Education yesterday, saying following the model that’s being done in Virginia would be much better.
Virginia’s model has winter sports starting in December, fall sports were moved to a February start and spring sports will open in April. The KHSAA Board of Control meets tomorrow morning to determine what will happen with fall sports.
