Todd Fiscal Court approved first reading of an ordinance Friday morning to keep its property tax rates the same.
The rate on real property will remain 9.9 cents per $100 of assessed value following unanimous approval by magistrates. Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield says revenues are down, but he and magistrates didn’t feel like now was the time to place an extra financial burden on tax-payers.
A resolution was approved to accept $378,000 in Kentucky Transportation Cabinet discretionary funds for improving Morton Lane near US 68, about two and a half miles of Hadden Mill Road near KY 106, a mile of Heltsley Lane eastward from KY 107, a small section of Edwards Lane and about two miles of Jack Gray Road.
Todd County Jailer Jeff Penick in his monthly report noted there are 87 inmates—66 state and 21 local—currently incarcerated and the facility needs to maintain about 90 state inmates to meet budgeted revenue. Those numbers have been down during the pandemic.
