CCSO charges man with meth trafficking

A traffic stop by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday afternoon led to the arrest of a Crofton man for methamphetamine trafficking.

Deputy Scott Noisworthy stopped 56-year old Billy Johnson of Crofton for a traffic violation that nearly caused a wreck at East Ninth and College Street and an arrest citation says Johnson was sweating and appeared nervous.

A K9 alerted on his vehicle and a search allegedly revealed a bag containing a large amount of methamphetamine in the console, in addition to digital scales and clear baggies.

Johnson was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and failure to use turn signal.
