Guthrie traffic stop leads to arrest of Princeton man

A traffic stop Saturday night in Guthrie led to the arrest of the driver on multiple drug and gun charges.

Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy Mitch Frazier stopped 55-year old Rodney Ware of Princeton for a traffic violation and an arrest citation says he gave consent to search his car after he and his 17-year old female passenger stepped outside.

Police say they found marijuana and methamphetamine wrapped up in a face mask in the trunk and a sawed off shotgun in the spare tire compartment.

Ware and his passenger denied ownership of the items, but police say their possessions were in the trunk with the items.

Ware was evaluated for a medical condition at Logan Memorial Hospital and then arrested for trafficking in marijuana and methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a felon, careless driving, failure to use a turn signal and driving with a suspended license.
