Clarksville suspect leads local deputies on pursuit into Tennessee

A pursuit of a Clarksville carjacking suspect that began Sunday morning in Oak Grove ended back in Tennessee with a crash and an arrest.

Clarksville police were notified about 9 a.m. that a woman was at the dog park at the Paddock Place Apartments when a man pulled her out of the back seat of her vehicle, punched her in the mouth and then drove off in her vehicle.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department was notified that the vehicle was last seen coming into Oak Grove and Deputy Greg Koehler began a pursuit of the automobile driven by 21-year old Larry Hardy on KY 115. Hardy got on I-24, exited on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Oak Grove, then made several turns as he made his way back toward Clarksville.

He crashed into a pickup at Trenton Road and Tiny Town Road and the occupants of the truck were taken to Tennova Health Hospital for treatment.

Hardy will be charged in Christian County with fleeing or evading police and multiple counts of first-degree wanton endangerment—in addition to carjacking, evading police, reckless driving and other charges in Tennessee.
