Human remains were discovered Thursday in Trigg County and foul play is suspected.
Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson was called to a wooded area adjacent to a cemetery on Rocky Point Road and confirmed the remains were that of a human, according to a news release.
Vinson says the identity of the remains is unknown and it appears the death was a result of foul play.
An autopsy was scheduled for Friday at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.
The investigation is ongoing by the coroner’s office and Kentucky State Police and they were assisted at the scene by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.
