MLB Notes

The St. Louis Cardinals’ series against the Detroit Tigers has been postponed. The Cardinals now have 13 positive tests as the team battles an outbreak. St. Louis will have a total of seven games in a row postponed until they’re tentatively scheduled to play again. The team is expected to return to St. Louis tomorrow. Cardinals president John Moleziak says he’s seen no proof of a report that players visited a casino.

MLB’s Field of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa has been canceled. The game was scheduled for next Thursday with the St. Louis Cardinals taking on the Chicago White Sox. The game is being canceled due to logistical reasons, not COVID-19 reasons.

Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Soroka is out for the season with a torn right Achilles. He was helped off the field in the third inning of last night’s game against the Mets after falling on his way to first base in an attempt to cover the bag. Manager Brian Snitker called it a freak accident. Today is Soroka’s 23rd birthday.
