The Indianapolis 500 won’t allow fans to watch the race in person later this month. Roger Penske, who purchased the iconic speedway in January, initially said this month’s race would run with fans, but to limit capacity to 50-percent amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. That number was then lowered to 25-percent capacity before today’s decision. According to Penske, the financial ramifcations of not hosting spectators didn’t play a part in his decision. The 104th running of the “Great American Race” is set for August 23rd after being postponed from Memorial Day weekend.
