The Hopkinsville man charged with murder and DUI in connection with the death of a woman last week in Elkton appeared via video conferencing Monday morning for arraignment in Todd District Court.
Judge Ken Williams accepted a not guilty plea from public defender David Graff on behalf of 42-year old Billy Jo Faughn of Hopkinsville.
Kentucky State Police say Faughn was headed south on Blue and Gray Park Road last Wednesday evening when his vehicle went off the road in the 1200 block, traveled several hundred feet and struck 71-year old Sarah “Janie” Barrow, who was standing near a garage, before hitting the building.
Barrow died from her injuries at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Faughn is charged with murder, DUI and possession of marijuana and he’s lodged in the Todd County Jail.
