Two Elkton residents charged with meth trafficking

Two Elkton residents were arrested in Hopkinsville early Sunday morning on drug trafficking charges.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to a hotel on Fort Campbell Boulevard for reports of possible drug use.  Upon arrival, officers learned there was an arrest warrant out on an occupant of the room, 28-year old Robert Sargent of Elkton, and investigation resulted in a search warrant.

A search of the room reportedly revealed over two grams of methamphetamine, approximately 10 pills of hydrocodone, marijuana and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Two loaded handguns were also located in the room.

Sargent, and another occupant of the room 27-year old Felicia Powell of Elkton, were arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
