SEC announces conference only football schedule for 2020

Kentucky won’t be playing rival Louisville this year. The Southeastern Conference announced yesterday it would play only 10 conference games this season because of coronavirus concerns. That wipes out Wildcats’ games against the Cardinals, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Eastern Illinois. The season will kickoff on September 26, three weeks later than originally planned, with a schedule for all 14 SEC members yet to be finalized. UK athletic director Mitch Barnhart said in a press release the schedule gives the SEC a better chance to play in 2020.

Meanwhile, Tennessee and Vanderbilt lose eight non-conference games between them. The Vols won’t be playing Charlotte, Oklahoma, Furman and Troy. Vanderbilt scratched games with Mercer, Kansas State, Colorado State and Louisiana Tech.
