Portions of Country Club Lane will close next week to allow for installation of the pedestrian bridge that is part of the Greenway System.
According to a news release from the City of Hopkinsville, contractors will close Country Club Lane near Lafayette Road on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending no later than 4:00 p.m. while the pedestrian bridge is moved into place. Detour signage will be installed and covered prior to the date and uncovered on Wednesday morning.
The closure is to make way construct a pedestrian bridge central to a 1.7-mile expansion of the Hopkinsville Greenway Rail Trail as part of Hoptown-Christian County WINS projects and will be the longest in the state upon completion.
There will be an additional closure of Lafayette Road in the coming weeks.
