Mayor’s Youth Council suspended due to pandemic

The Mayor’s Youth Council for the 2020-2021 school year has been suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a news release, eligible students are strongly encouraged to consider applying for next year’s class. Local young people are encouraged to continue to share their ideas and feedback with city elected officials, departments, and divisions, no matter if they’re on the council or not.

Since its conception in 2015, 83 local students have served on the Mayor’s Youth Council and the program has served as a means to solicit youth input and foster authentic engagement.
