The Pennyroyal Arts Council is now accepting submissions of local recipes that will go into a new cookbook that will support the arts and cultural activities in Christian County.
According to a news release, the new cookbook—titled “Let Us Entertain You” will include recipes for appetizers and cocktails, breakfast and brunch, salads, vegetables and sides, main courses, soups and stews, breads and desserts with theatre theming and entertaining tips. It will also contain a kids section named the Children’s Playhouse, which will feature recipes from youth submissions.
Community members are asked to submit three to five recipes that will be represented in the cookbook and the deadline to submit is September 1. To submit recipes, go online to pennyroyalarts.org, or hard copies can be delivered into a drop box at the Alhambra Theatre. Pre-orders for the cookbook are open now and are $25 for one copy.
Executive Director Margaret Prim says, “Past performers from the Alhambra Theatre, local musicians and artists are being asked to submit their favorite recipes and playlists for an inspired evening at home. We will include local restaurants, local celebrity chefs and hope to curate small culinary events at the Alhambra leading up to the November release date.”
