Kentucky adds 836 new COVID-19 cases Saturday

Governor Andy Beshear again announced Kentukcy’s second-highest single-day total of new COVID-19 cases Saturday.

Another 836 tested positive, bringing the total to 26,764 since the pandemic began. Twenty-two of those cases were children five or younger.

The governor also announced another five deaths, bringing that count to 696.

The seven-day positivity rate is now at 5.41 percent, the highest rate reported in the last few months.\

Governor Beshear reiterated in a news release that Kentuckians can expect some additional steps in the coming days if numbers don’t stabilize.

At least 7,421 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
